I've finally hit week 13, which is the start of the second trimester. It's supposed to be the best trimester...you don't feel so sick anymore and your tummy isn't so big that it's making you uncomfortable. That's definitely true. I don't feel as sick anymore (just normal flu and cold stuff that's going around) and my tummy isn't big. I've just got that weird baby-fat ring so people can't tell if I'm fat or pregnant. At least my clothes still fit. My third trimester is going to be in the hottest time of the year. I'm considering moving to Alaska. Or Antarctica. Or Siberia.
I've been bloggily silent for the last week or so because I was playing hostess. My parents-in-law, and my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and their twin babies came and stayed with us for a week. Dylan's younger brother (the last one!) got married last Saturday in SLC. It was beautiful. I wish I could have appreciated it more, but I had the flu so I was throwing up, fevery, exhausted, and achey. I managed to make it to all of the activities (sealing, luncheon, reception), though, and even pose in a few pictures. The girl Brother married is terrific, and we're all excited to have her in the family. The two of them actually went to high school together, but were just friends. And now they're eternal companions. Yay! They're perfectly matched and should have a great relationship.
Luckily we have an apartment "attached" to our house. It's pretty much the other half of our house, but there's no way to get into it except for an outside door. Because of zoning laws, the landlord can't rent it out (since they're already renting to us) and they said we can use it for out-of-town guests. It made playing hostess very easy since it's a fully furnished 4 bedroom apartment. None of us were displaced from our beds and they had a place they could disappear to for peace and quiet. It was really fun to have them here! It was nice to have people to play with and fun to play with the 6 month old twin boy and girl. Seamus especially liked the babies, and the first words out of his mouth in the morning were "babies" instead of "candy" like it normally is.
